Proenza Schouler Fall 09 RTW
Okay, so I love the new Proenza Schouler collection. The somber color palette plus the layering add up to evoke a sense of moody French chic. The coats make the models look cool and mysterious and the cinched-in dresses- sexy, yet elegant. The fierce & feminine concept is definitely driven home with the tough, chunky footwear. This is a girl that's effortlessly cool, inherently sexy and unabashedly stylish.Photos: Marcio Madeira
Business Casual
Now, I know what you must be thinking. At first, I couldn't separate the idea of a denim shirt from those embroidered Pooh bears or Bugs Bunnies that so often show up on them. But, I really think there's something kind of great about all this. It ends up being a little ironic and has a sense of humor if worn with jeans- almost crossing the line into demin suit territory.
So, I haven't been able to wear anything but for the past few days, even though it's probably getting to the point where this little guy needs to hit the hamper. For my roommate's sake, let's hope that happens tonight.

Study Break: Katsura Villa
Exams start next week and I'm trying to start reviewing early this time. I thought I'd share some of my favorite art & architecture from class:
This is Katsura Villa built in the 17th century in Kyoto by Prince Toshihito. It demonstrates the Japanese penchant for a deliberate rusticity, which was influenced by the popular tea culture of the age.
One of the tea houses included in the complex.
